2.Faculty and Staff Members

1.2 International Faculties

Up to now, there are 164 International Faculty Members in 31 schools and scientific research institutions, of whom 83 are foreign experts, 65 are foreign teachers and 16 are from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

 

1.3        Employment of Overseas Emeritus Professors and Visiting Professors

By far, 92 overseas emeritus professors and visiting professors are employed by 22 schools and scientific research institutions, among whom 13 are from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

 

1.4        Obtaining Degrees Outside Mainland China

As of now, 489 faculty and staff members have earned degrees abroad and another 414 in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, 433 and 414 of whom are teaching staff, respectively.

 

1.5   Work Experience Outside Mainland

To date, 480 faculty and staff members have work experiencein other countries for more than one year and another 64 in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, 443 and 63 of whom are teaching staff, respectively.

 

2.   International Cooperation

2.1        Cooperation with Universities and Educational Organizations outside Mainland China

As of December, 2016, Soochow University has signed Cooperation Agreements & Memorandums with 178 outside-mainland universities and educational organizations, 4 of which are newly increased in 2016, 1 in Portugal and 3 in Taiwan.

In 2016, Soochow University signed 17 inter-university Cooperation Agreements withoutside-mainland universities, 4 of which are in Japan, 2 in Canada, 2 in the United States, 1 in Singapore, 1 in Britain, 1 in Nigeria, 1 in Portugal, 5 in Taiwan.

 

3.   Conferences

In 2016, Soochow University hosted a total of 33 international conferences of all kinds.

 

4.   Foreign Exchange Activities

In 2016, Soochow University hosted a total of 233 visiting groups(35 of which were from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan), and individualvisitors for 1520 times(786 of which were from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan).
